Football teams bring in a lot of hype for their town. Besides entertainment, they also bring in business as football matches in the college leagues as well as the NFL attract thousands of patrons per game. The local team doesn’t play just to get paid or to win, but to win on behalf of and for their hometown.

Rivalry

Over the years, rivalries have arisen between teams in different football leagues. From local leagues comprised of nearby high schools in the state to NFL teams, rivalry brings forth drama and drums up interest in any match.

While other sports such as basketball or boxing are also considered contact sports, football can be considered one of the most physical-intensive sports in the country. Rory McIlroy 

By 2014, McIlroy was the top young prospect of golf, having ranked first in the world and won two major championships by eight strokes each. It was a feat comparable to that of Tiger Woods. He has since slowed down a little but is currently sitting in 6th place in the rankings.

Ricky Fowler

Before joining the pros, Fowler was the number one ranked amateur golfer in the world for 37 weeks in 2007 and 2008. By 2016, he has climbed up to 4th on the official World Golf Ranking. There’s no mistaking the hype surrounding the 28-year-old Californian, and he should be solid competition for others on this list in the coming years.

Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama is a five-time PGA Tour winner who managed to become the world No. 2-ranked player just this past June, after a runner-up finish at the 2017 U.S. Open. The 25-year-old Japanese is currently ranked 3rd globally.

Twenty-four-year-old Justin Thomas just hoisted both the PGA Championship and FedEx Cup championship trophies. He is currently ranked 4th on the official World Golf Ranking. 2017 has been a breakout year for the American.
